How to Make a Music Video Animation

Music videos are made using film, pictures, text and animation. Animation can be used throughout the entire video or it can be interspersed with actual video, photographs and text. Add some transitions and effects and the video becomes a professional production, although it was created on a home computer. With an eye for detail, a little imagination and some free time turning that song into an animated video is fun and easy. Have a question? Get an answer from Online Tech Support

Things You'll Need
             Windows Movie Maker
Pictures in a JPG format that occur in sequence
             WMA format music file

Instructions

        1

        Open Windows Movie Maker.

        2

Go to "Import," "Pictures" navigate to the sequential pictures and select the sequential pictures to include in the animation.

        3

The sequential pictures will appear in the "Imported Media" folder. Drag the sequential pictures to the "Video" row of the timeline.
        4

Enlarge the "Timeline" view by clicking the "+" sign in the magnifying glass until it is grey.

        5

Select one clip and drag the right side of the clip to the left when red double-headed arrow appears. When the clip is dragged to the left, the duration of the clip is shortened.

        6

Shorten the duration of the clip to 0.27 seconds (less than one second). Repeat this for each sequential clip.

        7

Go to "Import", "Audio or Music" and navigate to the WMA format music file that will be used. The WMA format music file will appear in the "Imported Media" folder.

        8

Drag the WMA format music file to the "Audio/Music" row in the Timeline.

        9

Play the video and audio clips by selecting the Play button in the preview pane.

Tips & Warnings

The animation can occur quickly or slowly (appearing to be in slow motion), depending upon the duration of the clip. The key to creating animation is to have sequential pictures. Effects packages can be purchased that convert the sequential photos to animation.
